Can old game Dev’s make new Games and recreate success?
That’s what this article is about. It makes specific reference to both Richard Garriott and Shroud of the Avatar as well as Star Citizen. It’s an interesting read but the one thing I appreciated in the article was this bit:
and I see devs that are taking core concepts from the past and being smart about marrying them to updated ideas and new approaches
The whole article is definitely not flattering but I didn’t seeing it as being bad/rude either. The fact that blurb was included was something I appreciated as it’s important for people out there to understand that the same game isn’t being created, but rather old concepts are being done with new tech and ideas.
