Hear ye, Hear ye!!

Warin has been digging into the armor options for Shroud of the Avatar, charting, graphing, mapping and extrapolating just for us!
Even beyond that, there are downloads you can grab, put in your data, and see what it spits out!
I certainly hope he continues to keep up with this as changes are made to the system. I for one have already found this information, he put the time into, to be very useful!
If you do too, be sure to tell him The Caverns sent you!
If you’re wearing leather click here:
If you’re thinking about wether to pick light or heavy armor this might help you decide.
Worked on some armor charts and stats in order to compare different armor sets to eachother:
In the green area you enter your armors base stas,
In the blue area you enter your skill, item, jewlery bonuses etc
Net continues his combat lessons in game and the You Tube after versions continue to come your way. So grab a box of gummy bears and a Cherry ICEE and watch the latest one!

Looking for some new shirts? It looks like based on some tweets from Rild, Relics from Rild is getting ready to launch some Shroud of the Avatar shirts soon. Take a look!
So I am sure you caught update #118 by now, but its one of the lower priority pieces I haven’t blogged on when busy and/or sick. So if for some reason you never did catch it, you can find it right this way.
Another one that falls into the same category (hey, ive been behind and buried, ive had to prioritize!), is update #117. Regardless, here is a link to it so it shall always be found on my sites search!
So here’s a fun one for you! Im not a huge autograph chaser. Usually if I ask for one its either because, well.. I was going to have the chance so I feel like I should OR because Im going to ask for one on something as a way to just have a little fun. I guess you could say I sometimes enjoy getting them and maybe making a game out of it, but im also not someone thats crushed if I don’t get a chance to get one. No big.
So when I was packing for Austin, I saw an item from my Shroud of the Avatar collection I HAD to take to get signed. I did, and I also asked and had confirmed no one has ever asked for a signature on said item before. Woot! fun had, mission accomplished, and I have a first! I will let the pictures speak for themselves.
Wow! thinks have been amazingly busy this week and weekend! As a result im a bit behind on things but catching up! On a good note, its not busy in bad ways, its busy in fun/good ways. Buried me though! Still though, trying to keep up on as much as I can so here are some things for you!
Grab a big bag of popcorn, a giant coke or blur Raspberry Icee, a bag of Twizzlers, and a box of chew-able runts and sit down for another awesome production from the Mad Hermit!
Want to know what it’s like to be a VIP and attend Richard Garriott’s Easter Celebration? Buckle up and go for a ride with The Mad Hermit!
Now at this point you should still have quite a bit of that pop corn and other yum yum’s left. It’s time for the second feature! Combat lessons with Net.
So one of the things I am behind on, because its really not original or very useful in my opinion is recapping the official updates. However I still fully plan on including those as summary pieces just out of the sake of the completionist side of me.. Id like to have them as references in the archives for future searches to find them should someone look for them.
Here’s what we have for you in this week’s edition of Update of the Avatar:
Steam Special Promotion: 25% Off Thru April 21
Abe’s Vertas Pass Upgrades

Personally, I really am happy to see the books. Home run team! Looks like we are going to see some fences in the store. I will wait to see what they do with those on the pledge perks before I consider buying any but Im not looking forward to when they go in the store. Ill have to update the store spreadsheet I maintain! ugh! *laughs*
Don’t forget that the Caverns has a Patreon and can use your support! Even a 1.00 a month adds up quickly, so thank you for your consideration!
Don’t miss out on the R16 Hangout video! And for the record, Chris was already sick when I arrived so I only assume 50% responsibility for bringing the plague! *winks*
Now im not sure if you saw it or not, but Relics from Rild added some new merchandise to it’s line-up! Specifically that of pint glasses and shot glasses. Promises of more are on the way (which by the way Rild, don’t judge current response as a measureing stick.. I almost waited to combine on shipping knowing you have more coming but decided not to wait.. not everyone will rush it!).
I happen to be wanting some new glassware though, so this worked out for me. Perfect for my use.. so, score for Rild on timing! I plan on ordering at least 4 more as soon as he has the others in stock *taps foot and stares at Rild*. No really.. I NEED 4 more glasses as quickly as possible please. Seriously.. im not kidding.. I mean it. I really need them. Don’t forget to sample to the press for reviews also! *wink wink, nudge nudge*
I did see, pick up, touch, and put down some of these at Portalarium. I still ordered some, right? So that tells you what I thought of them. Nuff Said, review written!
Here’s a great write up and a few photos of the Explorers Club dinner. Richard and family attended as normal!

Introducing the Novian Academy of Arts & Sciences! Shroud of the Avatar’s first ever institution dedicated to the education of Avatars within New Britannia!
So the title of this event says a lot “The Gladiator’s Grid-Iron (BMC)”. This is a repeating event that has took place a few times already. You can keep an eye open for future dates as well as catch videos and screen shots though!
The Caverns Guild is currently raising funds for a PoT and is past the 50% mark! If for some reason your feeling generous and want to help the group with that, you can do so over here. POT Donations |.
It’s a great group of people the you see heavily involved all over the community both as individuals and as part of the guild. I had not planned on running a guild until E1… They changed all of that and I could not be happier or prouder.
You might have bumped into them in game or maybe you went to one of their events (such as The Shape of Things to Come spotlighted in a weekly update by Portalrium a week or two back!). The guild roster includes Sophi, Dr. Shroud, Logain, Vyrin, Womby, Lord Baldrith, Blake Phoenix, Forgiven, F’lar, Iansmellis, Trelass, Lyran, Nyssa Teckel, and Zoey Parx! Wow, what a line-up right?!!
The PoT will be for the guild to use as a group with land available to all guild members! We’re sweating the goal a bit and getting a tad worried they may sell out. They also go up 20% in May so are looking at it more seriously! If you where not aware of the 20% increase in May yourself, now you know! Get your purchases made before then!
Well, not everyone will be interested in all this, but hopefully theres something here for each of you!
First off, wow – another cross-promotion! Now, Im VERY RARELY negative, but wow.. a 55.00 on each side? That’s the steepest one yet with little information on the item! Ill be keeping my eyes on this one but I am not jumping in yet! The game itself, completely of interest to me… but a person can only play so many games and my future list is getting big! With the bulk of my time going to SotA, asking me to spend 55.00 on something I may not have time for is steep.. but that may not be the case for you!
So check it out – SEVEN DRAGON SAGA!
Dragonshroud Blade: Our friends at Portalarium wished to get together with us to offer unique in-game items for both games. If someone backs Seven Dragon Saga at the Emperor’s Own ($55) level and backs Shroud of the Avatar at the Immortal Adventurer ($55) level, then the backer gains an in-game items in both games: the Dragonshroud Blade her in Seven Dragon Saga, and a magical cloak in Shroud of the Avatar.
Ok, what if you where interested in watching Shroud of the Avatar stream every day on Twitch? Well, we have a community member promising to do just that! Check it out!
Chris released some thoughts to put up for discussion in the community announcements on PvP and corpse looting.
First, the current plan is that loot claimed within a scene will stay with your corpse until you leave that scene. This means that if you run into a dungeon, run to the end, loot a diamond, that diamond is not really yours until you leave the scene. If you die deep in the dungeon, the stuff you just picked up will stay with your corpse. If you are in a PVP zone, anyone will be able to take those items.
Huzah! We Made 2015 Top 10 most anticipated by MMORPG!
Ultima. Richard Garriott. Hardcore. Old-school. If any of those things sound familiar or intriguing to you, then this is a game you should already be excited about.
If you didn’t catch the news, SotA passed 6 million (and that does NOT include Steam!). You can head on over to the forum thread if you want to join in on the celebration!
Now if you listen to the latest newscast with special guest Espada youll learn about some weak spots with this build. That aside, its still a good solid build and not really hard to use if you want to check it out.
Gear. Sword and board with full plate.
You want 4 skills locked and rest random.
Locked skills are
Rend from blades tree
Defensive stance from shield tree
Knights grace from heavy tree
Root from Earth tree
Rest of deck should be all the heavy buffs and root cards. Perhaps a heal.
The glory of this setup comes in the locked cooldown being so low.
Rend deals damage over time and lasts for at least 10 secs. Skill is on zero cooldown.
Defensive stance adds more damage reduction than the full su it of plate and lasts for only 1 sec less than the cd. 90% uptime.
Root is around 10 sec cooldown but lasts for at least 5 to 6 secs. 60% uptime and zero chance to fizzle.
Knights grace install removes stun and knockdown and has no cooldown.
The heavy armor buffs when they do roll into your random deck slots last around 30 secs. Enough to refresh them even with all the slugs.
You essential become a tank with double plate armor protection that roots everything and can dot the enemy for 5 dmg per second on full plate. Just that dot alone can kill in two applications. Casters have a chance but not if they get rooted and dotted up. Rend hits for too much to live.
THANKS TO ESPADA FOR DISCOVERING THIS COUNTER CLASS TO MY LICH AXE 2HANDER
